Should I tell him that we can't talk about it anymore unless and until he at least gets separated and files for divorce? Or is it all right to be thinking and talking hypothetically about a future, as long as we are not actually having an affair? I do believe him that he has had serious marital problems, and I think, but don't know, that he's sincere when he says he was already planning a divorce. But of course, I don't like feeling as though I'm the other woman while he's still married and living at home with his wife and children, or that I would be the woman he would leave his marriage for. ![]() So far, nothing has happened between us other than these serious conversations about the future. Also, I don't want to be alone the rest of my life, and I could imagine being happy with him. I've never been married, and would like to try to have a child, even though I know it will be very difficult and my age, and he wants that too, even if it means IVF. We've begun to talk about what that would look like. He's a very good man and someone who I could see building a future with. But for now at least, he's living at home with his wife and teenaged children. At the time, I thought he was divorcing, but I've since learned that it's a case where he's been very unhappy in the marriage, feels that it's at an end, and is planning to get divorced. The man who has been my supervisor for the past couple years recently expressed romantic feelings for me.
